This came with my T1i. I don’t know if it’s worth $100 by itself. You definitely will need an extra battery, and having the UV filter is nice for protection purposes. The bag is just OK. Maybe because I prefer backpacks. I used some quad shox to turn it into a backpack and it works ok. I can carry the T1i body, 3 lenses, filters, cables and strap the tripod below.

5 Stars Perfect Fit
I recently purchased a Canon Powershot SX20IS through Amazon. The lens cap fits securely on the lens barrel but there is no tether, only a clip inside to attach the cap onto the neck strap, which I don’t use. When I saw this item and the reviews were very positive, I decided to buy it. This is THE tether that all super zoom and DSLR cameras should include. The elastic band fits snugly around the lens barrel and the sticky button fits onto the lens cap securely. The tether may be one to two inches on the long side, but better long than too short.

I just purchased the Sima Capkeeper 2 and put it on my canon kit lens 28-135. Works great and seems to be sticking pretty securely and although the string is a bit short, it’s doable for this particular lens. I’m not so sure it would be long enough for a larger zoom without interfering.

This product works great with my stock nikon d40 kit lens. The sticky bits stick well, and althought the chord looks a bit short, it fits the 18-55 lens really well. I used a small c clamp to apply pressure to the sticky bit on the lens cap. So far so good! Two thumbs up!

As others have written, this is a great lens for the money. It does take a bit to focus, which works best in MF mode, but other then that, it zooms very well and captures awesome pictures when focused well. Good buy for the money if you cannot step up to the next level lenses in the 1000 dollar range and up!

I have an e-510 and have been just using the kit lenses for the past year and had this one saved in my amazon cart for about that long. Glad I waited as with the rebate now in effect on the 70-300mm lens the price was just too hard to resist and having watched its price remain a steady 80 dollars or so above what it is now for the past year I would recommed others who are on the fence to get it now.

I was impressed by the build and heft of this lens. Better then the kit lenses by far. Really gives my e-510 reach now. I also have a Canon T1i (I wanted the video function) and the 55-250mm lens for that. The build on the Olympus is much better. (I do like the canon as well though, just a noticeable build quality difference in the two lens) The pics with this lens are very good, although at 300mm in anything less the full light I can tell the IS system is at its limits and some shots will be spot on and others just a bit off do to my inablity to steady handhold at that range. I would highly recommend this lens to Oly users as you are getting a very nicely built lens with a lot of reach for a very good price.

I bought this battery in November, charged it and put it in my camera bag. A week later (early December) I went to use it, and it showed that the battery needed charging. Strange, I thought, and re-charged it. Same scenario. I never even got to use the thing. It is worthless.

Although it looks and feels not bad, it simply doesn’t work with my D90. So I’m returning it. A little disappointed because the Opteka D90 grip got very good review.

Nikon’s charger would show this battery as fully charged, but my D90 would show it as a dead battery. I have returned this battery and will be buying the OEM from Nikon. Don’t waste your time with this 3rd party battery, go for the OEM. I received this as a gift, and Amazon was amazing in helping me return this item for a refund.

1 Star Opteka EN-EL3E Won’t Work In New Nikon D90
Purchased the Opteka EN-EL3E for my new Nikon D90. Charged it in the Nikon charger and even though the charger shows it charged the D90 shows it is not so battery will not work in D90. Contacted 47st Photo with two emails asking to return for replacement and they do not answer. Save your money and your time and buy a genuine Nikon battery, at least their support people answer you!

Save yourself some trouble and buy the real Nikon battery. The new EN-EL3e is an improved battery from it’s predecessor. I purchased this Opteka for my D90 and it DID NOT recognize it. If I were you I would not risk it. It was cheap enough for me to try, but not worth the money or RISK of you do try it on your Nikon and something goes wrong so I am returning it to Amazon. From now on, I play no games an only buy Nikon original stuff. Amazon has a very good price on the Nikon branded battery. You pay for what you get, in this case I got nothing though

5 Stars Case needs a belt loop
Not much to add that hasn’t been said, but I wish the storage case had a belt loop. It wouldn’t add more than pennies to the cost, but would let you carry it on your belt when you need it but don’t want it mounted full time, or let you run your camera bag strap through it when space in the bag’s at a premium. Still five stars.

4 Stars Canon 430EX II
The Canon 430EX II. Using the unit with the Canon SX1 IS and works very well. Controls easy to work. The LCD is large enough, but in low light a little hard to read. Some of the functions can not be used with the SX1, but for my use it’s no problem. The way the unit locks on to the camera is much better then turning the screw knob I had on my 540EZ. I looked at the 580EX, but that is a bit to large for the SX1. I think it’s a good flash for the amature or pro. Ordered from Amazon and had the unit in 3 days.

5 Stars Canon Speedlite 430EX II
Obviously, goes well with the EOS cameras. I’ve only had it for less than a week, so I’m still learning how to use the large number of features. These features provide a lot of flexibility, especially when coupled with all of the different camera modes. Recycle time and battery consumption also seem to be good, again given the short amount of time I’ve been using it (but a lot of test shots). I’ve gotten good results with flash coverage as far as 30′ (which may not be its limit, but it’s as much as I’ve used so far). The low light focus assist is a great benefit in speeding up the camera’s focus under those conditions. It’s not a small unit, but not unwieldy, either. The rotate/bounce really helps to soften the sometimes harsh flash light. This seems to be a great addition to my EOS camera.

4 Stars Very Good overall
Before I bought this item, I did a little research by reading reviews from people who’ve purchased this particular flash as well as asking those with more experience. I was told that the 430EX was a good flash to get started with–and they were right. I use a Canon Rebel XSi(450D) and I tried looking at the 580 but it looked much too massive for it. Although the 580 has features that the 430 doesn’t, I’m not a professional photographer that owns a studio for portraits and stuff, so I decided on the simpler model. I love the fact that it swivels up and down, left to right to achieve certain lighting effects that you wouldn’t get with lower-end flashes. I was a tiny bit disappointed that the light it emits isn’t much stronger that the built-in flash, BUT in order to be fair, I haven’t had the opportunity to discover its maximum potential yet. There is a shutter synchro function (as well as other functions) that I haven’t played around with, and when I do, I’d be sure tell you all about it. Overall, its a good flash to own and I’d recommend it to those who, like me, are just getting started learning the fine art of photography.
