4 Stars How to print from your PC
Printing to the CZA-1011B from a personal computer;

The manual states that this printer “Does not print when connected to a PC.” Interestingly, this is not mentioned anywhere on the box.

You can’t physically connect this printer to your PC with a normal A to B USB cable. I’m not aware if A to A connectors with males at both ends even exist, but I wouldn’t try one because it may actually damage one or both ports electrically.

You can connect the printer via Bluetooth. You must have a Bluetooth adapter on your PC. When you “pair” this or add a new device or whatever, the passkey is 6000 as stated in the manual. When the device is connected to your PC via Bluetooth, the only profile you’ll see supported is the OPP or Object Push Profile.

To print to the device, you now have to send a file to it. I’m using the Widcomm stack, and I right click on the Bluetooth tray icon and choose “Send file.” I don’t know how it works with the Microsoft or BlueSoleil stack, but it has to be along those lines. You’re using object push to send a file to the device.

The file format you send matters. I initially tried sending a bitmap and it failed. When I sent a jpeg to the printer it worked. I don’t know what other image formats are supported, but beware, some obviously are not.

A while back, Polaroid introduced an instant camera which produced 2×3 adhesive-backed photos on traditional instant film. It was marketed as somewhat of a toy. This printer produces an image quality which is probably on par with that, and given this printer can be had for around $30, if you set your expectations accordingly, you’ll probably be happy. You get relatively inexpensive, instant prints, wirelessly, from a printer you really can slip into your pocket. The build quality feels excellent. They definitely could have supplied a better battery, and the power supply was probably a surplus from a much larger device, but again, this thing is cheap, and if you’re shopping for a gadget-lover, you can’t miss with this one…. as long as they actually have Bluetooth.

4 Stars Great for a fun factor
I bought the POGO cause I thought it would be kind of cool to have a purse sized printer for my digital camera. The printer is a Polaroid,I didn’t expect perfection. The printer is red, and fits in my purse…I had a heck of a time figuring out how to set my Nikon D40 DSLR to use with the POGO. I almost gave up, until I read a Yahoo Answers question. To set the Nikon D40, go into menu, to USB port, and select the the opposite of what it is defaulted at. It doesn’t say Pictbridge, but that is what it is.

The pros: It’s ultra cool. It’s small. Can go into my purse. It prints in a minute. Does not use ink. It has Zink technology, which means zero ink. It’s fun to have around.

The cons: The pictures remind me of the older instant Polaroids you shook to produce the picture, after it was printed. If there is too much light, the picture is yellow. All my pictures are blurry with lines. The AC adpater is HUGE, bigger and heavier than the printer, and the battery life lasts through only 11 prints. The adapter is not pocket or purse size. Polaroid can work on this.

If you are familiar with the older Polaroid pictures, this very much reminds me of them. I can see me using the POGO with a group, like on vacation, or going out,and wanting to take some fun pictures,and then print them. It’s not a serious product, it’s fun. That’s all. It’s useful and fun. Who cares if it is perfect? I went through 10 pages on purpose, cause the paper was dated for 09/09. I ordered a large package of 80, as well. I would suggest you do this. My box of 80 are not expired. I also ordered the neoprene case.I suggest you do this too.

All in all, I find this is a product that is up and coming. It is worth the 29.95, to me atleast. If just for the fun factor. The adapter size needs to be improved on, and so does the printing perfection. The battery power can also be improved. I am not concerned. This is a useful item. And very cool. See my picture above, the red POGO.

1 Star Never should have released to market.
50% of prints have terrible streaking and are unusable. This is a flaw with the technology and documented by Polaroid. Have to run a calibrator sheet before every print to get anything. Contrast is terrible. Looks like Polaroid couldnt get the technology to work and shoved this to market just to recoup some of their development losses on this turket.
