User Ratings and Reviews

2 Stars just a battery that does what it should
WAY too expensive for what it is: just a rechargeable battery that is worth about $5. Canon should be proud of themselves for EXTREME price gouging. They could charge $10 for this item, make a huge profit doing so, and not alienate their customers.

The electrical capacity is ok, but not great. And the “smart” feature is slightly better than useless. Yes, it is nice to see how much charge is remaining, but that feature is not worth the $50+ that Canon robs you for.

I tried a generic battery for about $10 (including its own charger), but that battery was physically slightly too big and it jammed in the camera and had to be pried out. This Canon battery fits properly, so I’m stuck buying Canon batteries until I can find a generic that fits.

5 Stars One just isn’t enough…
For anyone who thinks this battery is expensive, I say “You must be new to digital photography!”. Ever since I got a camcorder a decade ago, then later started using little digital cameras, and now finally the Canon EOS 5D Mark II, battery power has been an issue. Gone are the days of mechanical SLR’s with little button batteries for the meter!

Today’s electronic image-making devices use major power. Without a good battery, you have nothing but a brick. I have developed a habit of having plenty of power available. I purchased the battery grip so I could put two batteries in the camera, and have the AA-battery clip in reserve. I want to take pictures not drive tent stakes with my brick!

These batteries provide plenty of power to shoot. But as the manual warns, the more you review your images, the more you use Image Stabilization; the more you auto-focus, the faster the batteries will drain. And if it’s cold outside…. You want to have power to spare if you’re serious about making images. These are the batteries you want. Don’t fool yourself into saving a couple dollars on a generic battery – you will not get a real savings. They don’t provide as many charge cycles and they don’t report their status as well. It’s not worth the savings!

5 Stars Buy Canon or go home!
Buy this Canon brand battery for you 5D Mark ll. It’s worth the price for the battery info feature of your Mark ll. Go Canon or go home!

5 Stars Great product
Great product from Canon. Very satisfied.

Canon LP-E6 Battery Pack for Canon 5D Mark II Digital SLR

5 Stars good and high quality battery for reasonable price
I bought this one for ~$60 on amazon. It’s a bargain already since its original price (last year) was $120 and up. This is a high quality, high capacity battery with some integrated information chip (which show you the history of battery, recharge, no. of shots taken, etc.). It’s not something luxury – just a “nice to have” feature.

Joby GP2 D1EN Gorillapod Flexible Tripod for Digital SLR Cameras with Bubble Level

Joby GP2 D1EN Gorillapod Flexible Tripod for Digital SLR Cameras with Bubble Level

The Joby GP2-D1EN Gorillapod Flexible Tripod is designed for Digital SLR Cameras and it comes with a bubble to help you level your picture.

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars Good
The tripod is good but is not what I expected it to be. May be I should have gone for the next higher quality model.

5 Stars fantastic addition to any camera
I originally got the smaller Joby tripod for my Sony digital camera(wx1), and returned it for this version. It was just too small for my needs. This is the perfect size to be able to carry with you wherever you go. It wraps around mostly anything, easy to stow, very stable, and made of high quality. The addition of the bubble level is great also. I really couldn’t ask for more.

5 Stars Very useful for non-flat surfaces!
This product is very useful to take pictures whenever were you stay! It’s not an excuse to say “we don’t have where tu put the camera!” again…just use this tripod and all your problems will be resolve…good luck!

3 Stars Strong enough for a DLSR my ACE!!
Sorry, but this is a joke. Please don’t label something DSLR capable when it’s barely strong enough to hold a super zoom camera.

Maybe I got a poor copy, but if I didn’t, don’t expect much out of yours.

I LOVE the idea, I have other Gorillapods for standard size cameras and they are exceptional. I LOVE the quick release and the level that comes standard.

This thing can’t hold my canon 5d mark II with a tiny 50mm lens.

Sorry, but that’s disappointing!

I’m not returning it because it works well for so many other things.

5 Stars Great tripod. Make sure you choose the right one for your type of camera.
I don’t agree with the negative review about this tripod, because the wrong size was chosen by the buyer. There are different sizes of Gorillapods for different sizes of cameras and lenses. This one is specified for smaller cameras, and for that purpose it works great (at least for me it does). My advice: before you buy andy Gorillapod, check on Joby’s website which one’s right for the type of camera and lens you have, and then you can come back to buy it cheaper @ Amazon. ;)

5 Stars No Regrets
I knew I was going to need more than one battery to feed the camera when I go shooting. I was tired of tracking battery life and having to swap batteries mid-session. I was uncomfortable about the possibility of running both batteries down and not having an alternative.

The Battery Grip solves all that. It holds two batteries and comes with an insert that holds AA Batteries (I bought some lithium ones) so you can shoot at least twice as long before needing to recharge, AND you can use readily available AA Batteries if you hit the wall and need to keep shooting.

The extra features of this grip include the second set of controls on the side so that when the camera is in vertical you can still shoot with all your controls handy – and no contortion. Second, the base cover for the battery compartment on the camera stows inside the Battery Grip where you pretty much can’t lose it and where it is readily available if you need to swap off the grip and go back to using the battery inside the camera (some lenses on a tripod won’t tolerate the Battery Grip because of fit issues with the tripod).

Does this add to the size of the camera. DOH! For me that’s not an issue. I have really big hands and it actually helps me better manage the camera. But if you’re trying to travel light, you will find that from a size point of view, it’s a trade-off. For me, there is no doubt this was the way to go. Now when I climb Mt Fuji…we’ll see… But I will still have extra batteries! ;-)

4 Stars A must have.
An absolute must have accessory especially when using the 70-200mm 2.8/f IS USM or larger lenses. The extra weight helps balance the larger lenses and the extra controls make multiple portrait shots more comfortable. Having the option to use AA batteries although not preferred is nice as well.

4 Stars Great addition to battery life and addition camera control
Battery life excellent, additional grip space a plus and having the additional controls on the grip makes vertical shooting easier. The only con I can see is the additional weight it adds to the camera but the pros outweigh that issue. I would recommend to those needing extended shooting battery capacity

5 Stars Solid Gear
I can’t see how I would shoot without this. I wouldn’t go cheap and get the knockoff. Get the real Canon part and feel better about yourself :)

I love the battery grip. Just buy it!

4 Stars Expensive but necessary…
i bought this when there weren’t any knockoff battery grips. if i buy another 5d II in the future, i’m probably getting a plastic knockoff grip for my 2nd camera.

the way i shoot, i HAVE to have a battery grip. i don’t mind turning my wrist, but the time it saves me later straightening out all of my pictures makes it well worth it. plus, who can’t use the extra battery life?

other than that, everything works exactly how it’s supposed to. the grip matches up perfectly with the 5d mk II’s body and stays tight/looks great. every once in a while i’ll set it on my lap and accidentally take a few pictures or accidentally hit the shutter button while reviewing pictures…but all user error.

i rated this a 4 because it’s a little expensive. granted, i paid $300 for mine and now you can get them almost 20% cheaper than that. if you can’t afford it or don’t want to…read reviews, you’ll see there are some very good 3rd party plastic grips for the 5d II and decide for yourself if it’s worth the extra $160 or not.

Kingston Elite Pro 32 GB 133x CompactFlash Memory Card CF 32GB S2

Imaging pros expect a lot from their equipment and can’t afford to have a component limit their productivity or creativity. That’s where Kingston’s CompactFlash Elite Pro memory cards come in. The newly redesigned Kingston CompactFlash Elite Pro offers a minimum sustained write speed of 133X. The Elite Pro is designed specifically to help advanced amateur or professional photographers get the best performance from their high-end imaging devices and applications. No matter how fast you work, CF Elite Pro can keep pace. With its ultra-fast transfer rates of 25MB/sec. read and 20MB/sec. write, and up to 32GB capacity, you can capture more continuous, high-resolution images in less time with the Elite Pro than with traditional CompactFlash memory cards. And when it’s time to transfer your largest files, watch them fly your production workflow will be more efficient than ever.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars great value
The CF card works well, and the transfer speed is satisfactory. Great value for the price!

2 Stars Skips and buffers
I bought two to replace my 16GB PQIs which are 120x and rarely buffers. Both replacement 133x 32GB skips and buffers every so often and pauses when I need to review. The straight copy/write speed is good but its between operations that it’s slow. I use a Canon 7D to record mostly in 1080 24fps, its worrying when I see the buffer icon go all the way to max when I’m scrambling to catch an event happening now. For staged shots this is okay. For run-and-gun I’m keeping my PQIs.

4 Stars Great card for the price
This card is great for pictures and video, yes I know this it not the best card ever in compare with the UDMA cards, but is enough for my works.

5 Stars A Canon 5D, Rebel XT/350 RAW+JPG user
A GREAT BUY. USED SINCE JUNE 2009.

I’m going to buy another one again for my new Canon 7D camera which I got for this Christmas season. I have used this card in my Canon 5D and Canon Rebel XT without fail doing time lapse videos (thousands of pics brought into a movie) and travel photography. Not a single point of failure. This is an Amazon verified purchase. In other words, I BOUGHT THIS and I USE IT. Enough said.
