User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Speedlite 270 EX
This flash was purchased to use on my canon G9 and I did not want something too large. The 270 EX is the perfect size for this and all G series cameras. The tilt head is also an added benefit for bounce flash. I find this flash to be more than adequate for interior shots and would not shot without it.

5 Stars Nice compact flash to take anywhere
I bought the 270EX to add to my Powershot SX10IS. Using the flash unit is simple: snap on, turn on, aim, fire. That’s it. Have two AAs handy. That’s all you need. No knobs, no digital settings, no programming of any kind. No frills. But this little unit will do the job. Since the SX10IS is now my backup camera, the 270EX provides the portability and basic added service I need. No professional shots with this speedlite. But pictures with the SX10IS are so much better illuminated now and not overly harshly. I also use a diffuser and I recommend you use one too, if you eventually settle on this little unit. The price is right and the results just perfect for the kind of photography the 270EX is designed for. Give this flash a serious consideration. You won’t be disappointed.

4 Stars simple, affordable, easy.
I have a Canon PowerShot Pro1 and I’m working on upgrading it with some accessories. This is the first accessory flash I’ve ever owned and I’ve found it to be quite capable, especially considering its relatively inexpensive price tag (compared to other more “professional” models).

The flash runs on two AA batteries, so it’s easy to carry spares and pop new ones in in just a few seconds, even while you’re on the go. The unit slides easily onto my Canon camera, but will not mount up to my old 35mm Minolta. I had been under the misguided impression that all ‘hot shoe’ fittings were universal across the camera world and I was proven quite wrong. Anyway, once mounted, the flip of a small switch locks the flash securely to the camera. The flash also comes with a protective nylon-feeling bag in which to store the unit when not in use.

The flash is quite versatile for a beginner or intermediate photographer as the flash output is fully adjustable (through your camera’s menu settings). The flash itself has physically adjustable settings for regular “straight on” flash photography, as well as telephoto pictures. The flash will also tilt upwards to varying angles to allow you to ‘bounce’ the flash off the ceiling in order to create a softer, more natural overhead lighting effect instead of blasting your subject straight on with a blinding flash.

I’ve taken nearly 200 photos on my first set of batteries, and I am noticing that the flash takes quite a while to warm up initially, however once warm, it seems to recycle in between shots at a reasonably quick rate.

In summary, if you want to expand your Canon D-SLR camera’s flexibility and usefulness without dropping $400-500 on an accessory flash, this is the one for you. This unit has a smaller size and a smaller price tag than many other models, but packs a lot of punch.

5 Stars Great entry level flash
Perfect flash for my new Canon SX20IS. Compact size and easy controls with the ability to bounce the flash.

5 Stars Speedlite 270EX – nice little package
I’m really happy with this flash. I tested it against my 430EX in my livingroom by bouncing both off the sloped ceiling. I tested both with and without a diffuser. I have an Omnibounce for the 430EX and a Zeikos diffuser for the 270EX. The 270EX did just as well as the 430EX with consideration to exposure, albeit the 430EX took no time to recycle and the 270 about 1-2 seconds. No recycle time if shooting straight ahead. Not bad for such a small package. Fits my G11 and SX10 very nicely. At less than 1/3 the size of the 430EX it’s very light and easy to carry.

Couple of caveats –

270EX has no manual controls so flash exposure must be done with the camera.

The head doesn’t swivel so the camera cannot be used in the portrait position if you want to bounce the flash off the ceiling. You can bounce it off the wall though if side lighting. Bouncing off the ceiling can be accomplished by using a hot shoe adapter cord and removing the flash from the camera and then aim the flash at the ceiling.

Although the 270EX isn’t as powerful as the 430 series, extra reach can be obtained by bumping up the camera’s ISO one notch.

All in all a powerful flash for it’s size.

Canon Deluxe 200 Tripod

The Canon Deluxe Tripod is a strong, rigid tripod with heavy-duty legs, center bracing, and gear center column crank. It is an excellent all round tripod for use with all but the heaviest lens-camera combinations. The anodized black finish is distinctive and functional, and the pad feet give you good traction on any surface. This Deluxe Tripod 200 features a built-in bubble level.

5 Stars This is worth the money!
I’m satisfied with this and I’m planning on using with more higher end Canon cameras like the EOS line, but for now its good with the PowerShot SD940 IS especially since it shoots 720p @ 30FPS.

5 Stars Good product for the price
It fits perfectly my Rebel XS with kit lens (I haven’t tried bigger lens yet). It’s lightweighted and I can see me carrying it everywhere. It can be adjusted to several different hights, which gets taller than I can use (I’m 5 feet). Overall: for less than $40, this is a VERY good product.

4 Stars Worth more than the money
I got a new Canon camera, and the old tripod did not work with it, so I ordered the Canon 200

so I could shoot some Halloween pix outside in the dark. I actually paid almost as much for fast

shipping as the tripod. It works fine, folks. Not as good as a tripod costing 4 times as much, but

I knew that.

The complaints that this tripod is a piece of plastic junk are without merit.

It’s a pretty good little unit. Hard to beat the price.

And I will continue to use it.

5 Stars It’s a Canon…dude.
Well built and thought out. Solid and sturdy for its price. You wont regret it.

5 Stars Excellent Purchase! :D
This tripod is everything I could ask for and more. Excellent price, excellent shipping and I am extremely satisfied thanks!

Canon BG E2N Battery Grip for Canon 20D 30D 40D and 50D Digital SLR Cameras

CANON BATTERY GRIP

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Great product for my Canon 50D
Extends battery life so well and is easy to install and use. I love it. Can’t believe I took so long to get it.

If you take lots of photographs you need this.

5 Stars Canon BG-E2N Battery Grip – Great Addition to Your Canon Camera
I have purchased 2 of these in the past 3 months. One for myself and one as a gift. The price beats the in-store price of almost $300 and the battery grip is easy to use. I used my battery grip with 2 batteries a whole week on a cruise (vacation) and took hundreds (almost thousands) of pictures. I never had to charge the batteries.

Great product – and a great gift!

5 Stars Original Canon battery grip for Canon 50D (comes with AA battery tray)
first, let’s talk about shipping is amazing fast! I order it a day before Thanksgiving and it arrived today noon, a day after Thanksgiving. so the shipping rate is amazing. it wasn’t thanksgiving it probably arrived yesterday.

( it may take longer in different places, I’m from NYC )

second, this battery grip is made by Canon, so it feels and matches the body identical. if you are wondering how is feels about the quality, then you should go ahead and grab the grip on your DSLR. the feeling that you get from it is the feeling that you expect from the battery grip. (mine is Canon 50D)

* This product comes with a 6 AA battery tray so no need to spend your money to get it. the battery grip is made in Japan.

Installation is easy, takes less then a minute. plus it has an instruction in it. after installed it my 50D looks a lot more professional but camera with the grip plus a Canon flash, it feels a lot heavier. but i can deal with it, and it is not that a big deal.

over all good product and i would recommend it

5 Stars Why wait…….. this is a must!
Excellent quality and it certainly adds versatility to your photo outings! It does add both weight and bulk to your camera, though this is not necessarily a terrible thing, as it makes your camera feel more stable in pose.

Camera straps seem to always be in the way when used in vertical mode.

I love the fact that battery life worry is a thing of the past!

Installation is simple and quick. It only involves the removal of the camera’s battery cover (which is a factory option – nothing shady or difficult here).

I am glad I purchased this grip… I just wish that I hadn’t waited a full year!

5 Stars Nearly mandatory for those of us with big hands
This is also a huge help with the 50D’s live view which takes battery power. The AA emergency backup trays for the grip have always lived in my camera bag and have never been used, but it’s good to have since you can find AA batteries most anywhere.

Canon PowerShot A1100IS 12 1 MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2 5 inch LCD Blue

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars Good for outdoors… I’ts an OK camera not an amazing one
I bought the New A 1100 IS because for being stupid I just gave away my A740 which I loved… I needed to have something portable and easy to carry around. So I decided I wanted to try this little one and take it with me to Italy because I didn’t want to walk around with the big SLR.

So I have to say is not bad if the weather conditions help with ntural light. On cloudy days the image quality is not the best, but in sunny days the pictures come out beautifully. The camera can be really slow in low light conditions and even that it has an image stabilization if you move a bit the image comes out blurry. It has no super macro setting like the A 470, but the macro setting is not bad. This camera eats the batteries really fast, it works better with rechargeable batteries, Other wise be ready to change batteries every 30 minutes. The indoors setting works ok. The view finder is good to have but if you use lots of zoom the picture comes out diferently than what you see through the view finder, so be careful with that.. I would say this is an OK camera, not an amazing camera.

In general I was more happy with my A 470 I shoulded not give it away!!!

5 Stars What a great camera!
Gave this to my wife earlier this year. She is using it constantly and it takes great pictures.

Pro’s: Takes great pictures, even in low light. Super detail.

Con’s: It takes about a second for the focus to settle, If you just mash the button, you get and out of focus picture.

I’d still rate it as an excellent camera since most of the competition also has this usability flaw.

4 Stars Canon PowerShot A1100IS
Good Camera for the money. Pictures OK, a little on the flat side, could be a little more vivid, more contrast. Dose pretty good with kids (fewer blurred shots). Battery life seems a little short (Uses cheap AA Rechargeable though). Fits in your pocket!

5 Stars Excellent buy – You cannot go wrong with it.
I recently got this camera to gift it to my sister. While I got a chance to play with it I could not stop short of exclaiming Wow’s.

I regularly use my DSLR, but the ease-of-use provided by this camera has got me into thinking of buying one for myself.

Though Canon stopped providing Manual exposure controls Av, Tv, M, … on their lower-end point-and-shoots the pictures still come out pretty good.

There is a Program Exposure feature which can be played with to your liking.

The optical IS is a boon and I have come to appreciate its value since I have wasted quite a lot of photos on my DSLR as I cannot hold the camera still enough while the shutter has been opened.

Hopefully Canon starts making the A590IS series which now sell for more than $200. In the meantime Canon A1100IS is your answer to better photos.

4 Stars Canon camera
Great price. It did not arrive in time for the birthday but I should have changed the shipping rate!

Canon PSC 1050 Deluxe Leather Case Black

Canon PSC 1050 Deluxe Leather Case Black

Specifically designed For the Powershot SD780 IS. This case is ideal for travel and storage of your digital camera. Allows for easy access to your camera while in case and provides custom fit protection.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars case is good, but magnet on the lid too weak
I like the case. It looks good and fits perfect on camera. only weak feature of this case is magnet on the cover flap. The magnet is too weak that it can’t keep the case closed.

5 Stars Exactly how expected it!
I bought this item along with several other items posted on Amazon and I am extremely satisfied as always when I purchased any items with Amazon. They delivered their promise exactly how they stated it.

5 Stars It works for the sd940 IS
Works with the powershot SD940 IS. Just requires that you stretch out the top cover a little bit. It’s leather and you just have to work it a little to get that perfect fit on the 940. Solid quality case.

5 Stars Fits the SD940IS
After reading some of the other reviews I wasn’t sure if the magnetic flap would close if I used this case with the SD940IS. The SD940IS is 2mm longer than the SD780IS. Well, don’t worry it fits the SD940IS perfectly like a glove and the flap closes just fine. The first time when it was straight out of the box and I closed the cover, the magnet didn’t catch. Then I pushed the camera inside a little more snug, and I pulled the flap a bit. Then it snaps shut every time, if you just give it a little tug the first few times to “break it in.” Now it just naturally falls into the right position to catch on the magnet. So if you have the SD940IS – I say go ahead buy this very nice leather case.

5 Stars Made For the Canon SD780 IS
I have the Canon SD780 IS camera and was looking to find a case for it. I bought this camera for its small size so I wanted a case that wasn’t too large. That would have defeated the purpose of buying a small camera in the first place.

This case is very sleek and fits the camera like a glove. It says it was made specifically for the SD780 IS directly on the packaging. The case is made of leather and the inside is lined with some sort of soft fabric material so it won’t scratch the camera when sliding it in & out. The flap is held in place by a magnet and there’s a belt loop on the back. This case it almost perfect.

The only thing I don’t like about it, which is actually rather minor and can’t be helped, is the hole on the top of the case for the hand strap. Every time you put your camera in the case, you need to string the strap through the small hole. Otherwise, the flap will not close because magnet is not strong enough to hold it. Also, the plastic piece on the strap gets caught on the small hole. But other than this, I don’t think you’ll find a better case for the SD780 IS.
