5 Stars Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8
This lens was recommended by an underwater photographer who takes awesome pictures. I had also read reviews stating this is a great lens for every day use. I am very impressed with the picture quality and the fact that I don’t have to get as close to the subject to get a great macro shot.

5 Stars Canon Lens
This is my third Canon specific lens for my two EOS units. It is easy to ues, a no brainer, and I love everything about it so far. I’ve had NO problems whatsoever and can recommend it highly to anyone interested in purchasing one like it.

Canon EF S 10 22mm f 3 5 4 5 USM SLR Lens for EOS Digital SLRs

Canon EF S 10 22mm f 3 5 4 5 USM SLR Lens for EOS Digital SLRs

With its effective focal length range of approximately 16-35mm in 35mm format, the EF-S 10-22mm f/3. 5-4. 5 USM is a remarkable lens with outstanding image quality that will take your photography into new dimensions and areas of dramatic expression. The super-wide zoom not only gives you the freedom to get exactly what you want in the shot, it dramatically alters perspective to allow for dynamic expression. The lens allows you to get extremely close to subjects, exaggerating the difference in size between a near object and its background. Creative photographers can use this phenomenon to create excellent separation between subject and background for a strong sense of presence, or for a pan-focus effect with everything from foreground to background sharply in focus. Exceptionally light and compact for its focal length range, the EF-S 10-22mm f/3. 5-4. 5 USM also has an incredibly close minimum focusing distance of just 24cm. A ring-type USM works in concert with the camera to provide super-fast, precision auto focusing and predictive tracking – with full manual override available at any time. Designed specifically for digital photography, the lens has specially shaped lens elements and Super Spectra coatings to suppress ghosting and flare, which can be caused by reflections off digital camera sensors. An exclusive optional lens hood can further reduce the incidence of flare. A circular aperture provides a pleasing background blur when shooting with a wide aperture; ideal for creating a sense of depth and getting your subject or model to stand out from the background.

4 Stars Good Lens, but not up to Takina’s 12-24 F/4
I bought this lens a week ago and have found it to be a good choice, though not up to Takina’s 12-24 F/4 which I would say is the best lens in this class. The Canon is lighter which makes it comfortable to shoot with a heaver camera like the 50D espically with a battery grip on, which I don’t own yet but plan on buying soon. The extra two degrees at the wide end is a big advantage also with this lens, though you lose it at the zoomed range this is not such an issue as I think most people who will buy this lens will have that covered buy another lens if the really need it.

This lens is soft in the corners especially wide open, this is common in a lens of this class and the Takina also does this but not to the degree of this Canon it also handles CA better and the Takina I would say has a much stronger build. Takina is well known for making tank lenses. I would take this lens over the Sigma and Tamron versions (Tamron usually I find to be the best for 3rd party lenses), but in my opinion, the Takina just out performs these lenses and does so with a constant F/4 aperture which is very important to me. Flare control does seem a bit better also with this lens though not by much, it can make a big difference in some shooting scenes.

This is a great lens overall, so don’t think I am unhappy with it. If the lens was cheaper I would probably recommend it but it’s the same price a Takina’s, Sigmas and Tamrons without the benefits so I will be returning it.

If you can’t get the Takina this would be a great second choice.

5 Stars awesome lens!!
I got this lens when I first got into photo and I had no idea what I was doing. I’m sure glad I blindly bought this lens! It’s such a fun lens to shoot with, super wide, nice crisp images. extremely durable too, mine has been hit by a couple skateboards and there has been no damage.

5 Stars Very Sharp Lens!
I took this lens out on a photo shoot with my Canon EOS Rebel T1i the day after I received it from Amazon.com. I had been a bit skeptical about purchasing it because I did not know how much I would need or like a truly wide angle lens, since I tend to prefer telephoto lenses. However, when I first used this lens, I was very impressed with the image quality and with what I saw through the viewfinder. The wide angle of view offers some very interesting new photo opportunities!

The images this lens produced for me were superb in terms of color saturation, clarity, and sharpness. The pictures were so sharp that I could crop them, keep only about 5% of the original image, and still have tack sharp pictures! Aside from the cheaper build of this lens, it performs on the same level as my “L” lenses.

As an added bonus, this lens offers an excellent depth of field with a close focusing distance of about 9 to 10 inches! That makes it possible to get close-up shots of flowers where every part of the flower is in focus – no more depth of field concerns!

When zoomed out toward the widest angle, my camera’s built-in flash causes a shadow from the lens to appear in the picture. But when an external flash is used, this is not a problem. I used a slim Circular Polarizer filter with this lens with no problems – no vignetting!

Before buying this lens, please understand that it is an EF-S lens that can be used only with Canon cropped sensors, such as the T1i, 50d, etc. It will not work with the full-framed Canon cameras (eg, 5d, 1ds, etc.).

5 Stars 10mm is just OMG!!
Everything you see through 10mm lens wide view is totally OMG-!! It is pretty expensive for beginner like me, but it was definitely a good buy. Build quality is very nice. USM is quiet and fast. Before you buy it, make sure you know it is 77mm, and not 58mm, so you need new UV Haze filter for it. I got a lens hood and it is huge!! Thats another OMG for me, but I will tell you, this lens is awesome. (or I should say, 10mm wide-view is awesome. I am a beginner and I don’t know much about sharpness and colors)

5 Stars Can’t beat the pictures this lens takes
bottom line, this lens takes amazing pictures you just can’t get with any other lens for this camera. Worth every penny.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Works as you’d expect it to
Buy it if you need the distance without line of sight. The infrared remotes are completley annoying and inferior to this one.

5 Stars Best toy ever!
This product works very well. I use it with a Canon Rebel and it does exactly what it says it does. The is probably the best purchase I have made for my camera…the only trouble I had was in Burst Mode it kept going and going (could have been user error) overall, great product.

4 Stars Works well
No more running while the timer is ticking down. And it is a great solution for long exposures on macro work to avoid motion artifacts and for sharpest focus. Note when you receive the package, the included batteries are wrapped in a clear plastic that is not obvious and isn’t mentioned in the manual. They will appear to be dead because there is no electrical contact till the clear packaging is removed.

5 Stars Wireless Remote Review
I’ve used the remote release in various wather conditions…even wrapped it in a “baggie” and used it on several rainy days. I put the camera and remote release in a plexiglass housing and took a few underwater photos of coral (shallow) and fishes….Though it is not advertised as such, the radio transmitter device works just fine underwater at a distance of at least 20 feet. I like the device and will buy one more for a spare.

5 Stars Perfect for Family Portraits
I purchased this product because I wanted to take family portraits and the first one I purchased didn’t work well at all It was good only at a distance of 13ft. This one can handle 300+ feet. It worked like a charm and I got great family photos without spending an $800 sitting fee for a photographer who would not give me the copyrights. I saved a bundle!

Wow this is an awsome camera for the price. I got this for my wife and she loves it, our Christmas pictures turned out great. Would recommend for the novice to amature. Only thing I havn’t tried is the HD video. Very pleased with the purchase.

5 Stars Just three little pieces away from perfection
This camera needs higher frame rate 1080 video

5 shot exposure compensation instead of just 3

Smaller RAW obtions

5 Stars Great high end camera for the amature
I am now just returning to the SLR type of camera after many years of using a simpler point and shoot type. My current point and shoot camera was a Canon, so I began my investigation with the Canon line of dSLR cameras. My first effort was to go by the local “brick and mortar” stores to get some “hands on” feel. After looking at a variety of other cameras, it soon became evident that the T1i was the camera that would best fit my needs as a very active amateur photographer. The factors that caused me to choose this camera: very good feel in my hand; easy to see and to use controls; a very large 15.1 MP picture size; 3.5 fps speed which fit nicely into the type of pictures I wanted to take; a good price point to reenter the SLR arena; Canon’s reputation in the dSLR field; my experience with former Canon cameras as well as with a currently owned Canon HD movie camera; the availability of a large variety of Canon lenses as well as their prices. In the 30 days that I have owned this camera, I have taken over 1,200 shots. The camera has lived up to all of the expectations that I have come to expect from Canon cameras and look forward to using this camera for many years to come.

5 Stars First DSLR
The Canon Rebel T1i is my first DSLR and it’s a good beginners DSLR. It consists of a little bit of everything. ISO isn’t the best but enough to shoot in low light. [it does get noisy anything higher than ISO 800] The interface is easy to get used to. The price was unbeatable at the time I bought it!

4 Stars First DSLR
I’ve always loved photography and wanted an SLR for 15+ years. When the digitals came out, I knew I needed one but the quality was nowhere near film. After about 10 years of the digitals being out, the quality/price ratio has finally become acceptable to me. I started looking and was set to buy the XSi. Right when I was about to buy the XSi, the T1i with HD VIDEO and a host of other features was announced. I held off again until the price on the T1i was to where I wanted it.

I love this camera. The PQ is amazing and I can get so many new and dramatic shots with the versatility. I’ve joined an online Canon Photography forum and received a ton of help and inspiration. The automatic modes work but why would you buy an SLR and use the auto-modes? The only problem with the camera is I’m going to have to blow a ton of money on lenses. :P Oh well.
