4 Stars Nikon D300 Battery Pack
This batrery gives my camera more shooting time with the AA battery. I do not need to worry about battery dead problem. It is a must for serious photographer on a major porject.

5 Stars I use on D300s and D700
Lets me use the same EN-EL4 battery as my D3s so I only need one type and one charger. The AA battery tray was the real reason that I purchased this. You can’t always find a place to charge a battery but they sell AA batteries at the Timbuktu Gas & Grocery, so you will always have the power you need, when you need it. This is especially true when you need a backup battery but didn’t have time to charge the thing. A set of lithium AAs will store for seven years and always be ready when you need them. Max frames per second are available on AAs too as well as when using the EN-EL4 battery.

Removable when you don’t need the portrait grip or additional battery capacity to keep camera size and weight to a minimum. As sturdy as the camera body and a very good fit. Certainly better than the old L shaped MB-series (MB-D100 & 200 especially) which were impossible to pack and a real pain to install.

5 Stars Excellent option for D700
This battery grip is a great optional gear for Nikon D700 as it allows to shoot at 8fps with EN-EL4a battery for action photography. Solid construction and fits well onto D700.

4 Stars Very good product
Feels good, widely expands the potential of my D300, well built. I wish it would feel a bit more integrated with the D300, and be attached a bit tighter. Also, it would be nice not to feel the fastening disc when you grab it by the grip. But this feeling seems to cost more than twice than what I paid for my D300.

Love the camera though.

5 Stars Nice supplement to your Nikon body
Very solid buil and sound. It is a nice adding to your Nikon body, D300 and D700. I use it on D300 and the fit and feature for vertical shooting are very nice. Note, it will add substantially weight to the set that will give your muscle an excersise. Nothing to complain about.

4 Stars Almost perfect fit for FZ28
The upside: Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 fits perfectly into this bag (lens hood not attached). The bag adds minimally to the dimensions of the camera. You can put the hood with the hood adapter upside down on the bottom of the bag and the camera still fits in perfectly (the camera lens goes into the wide side of the hood).

I’m giving the exact dimensions of FZ28 to help you judge if this bag would be good for your particular camera: the length is 4.25″ including the lens cap and the viewfinder eyepiece (the latter protrudes 3/8″ behind the back wall of the camera); the width is 4.5″ (not including the tiny strap eyelets); the height is 3″ almost exactly.

The downsides: Side pockets are too tight to hold almost anything except for a SD card in a tiny protective case it usually comes in. I think it’s a design flaw. The FZ28 battery measuring 1.75″x1.375″x0.75″ fits in a pocket only with certain effort and since the pocket is too tight it bulges inside the bag. As a result, the camera already would not fit in as comfortably (especially with the hood inside). Besides, you would not be able to take the battery out of the pocket while the camera is in the bag. Of course there is no room for a charger and other accessories.

The shoulder strap has no padding and is made out of rather coarse woven nylon. When you wear the bag on your shoulder make sure it does not rub against your skin – it might irritate or chafe it.

Tamrac has a compatibility chart where one can find recommended Tamrac bags for most of popular digital cameras. I could not put the URL here, but go to tamrac site and you’ll easily find the “Digital Camera Fit Chart”. Ironically, 33xx (Aero Zoom) series bags are not listed there (may be because they are “new”).

4 Stars Tamrac 3320 Camera Case
Fits my new Panasonic camera great. Helped keep it dry when we got splashed while on a motor boat. Rugged yet easy to use. Two small pockets on either side for small accessories.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars perfect
My wife wanted something smaller for her Nikon D70 and an extra 70-300 lens. This worked well with room for extra cards and filters. Fit the bill.

3 Stars very good quality, D5000 does not fit
this bag is very good, but unfortunately does not fit Nikon D5000 because of the built-in flash. I tried all the positions and the camera must be forced to fit the bag and the bag is deformed a bit.

However, other SLRs like Pentax K100 or zoom point and shoot cameras will perfectly fit.

5 Stars Nice Camera Bag
Nice construction. I use it for my Nikon D40. Holds charger unit and a couple filters. Don’t expect room for another lens.

4 Stars The Explorer 2 (Tamrac 5502) is roomier and costs only $5 more
I’ve been using an Explorer 1 to carry a Nikon D40x+lens, two extra lenses, and a flash. Everything “kind of” fits, but the bag’s overstuffed, so the camera sticks up above the zipper. The bag closes, but bulges, with the LCD pressed against the top flap. A Nikon D90 is just a teeny bit taller & wider, so it sticks up even more… too much more for my peace of mind.

The Explorer 2 is just a little bigger in all dimensions than the Explorer 1… big enough to comfortably hold all the same equipment for the D90, and the camera does not protrude. The “2″ also comes with a pair of horizontal dividers to let you stack things on top of each other, on either side of the camera. Getting to a lower lens might be a little challenging, and my gear doesn’t need these; but they could be useful for some people.

The Explorer 2 is only $5 more than the Explorer 1, and I wish I’d gotten it in the first place, only because it’s roomier. The construction and extra pockets are the same for both bags: excellent workmanship, good protection, and places for lots of little things.

5 Stars Great starter bag
This bag is great. It’s sturdy, protects our camera well, has lots of pockets for storage of extras, and is easy to carry and lightweight. It is small, though, which is perfect for us. We just have the camera body and one lens (a Canon Rebel XS with the kit lens – 18-55mm). The camera fits snugly in the bag with the lens attached, and the case would probably fit one more lens and a flash. Right now, we use the extra space in the bag to fit our point-and-shoot, which is pretty handy. We also have our memory cards, battery pack, and USB cords for the camera stored in the front pocket. If you’ve got any more than just the basics, though, you’ll want a bigger bag. I suggest going to the Tamrac website, where they have all the specs on all their bags, plus diagrams with about how much each bag will fit. We did that, and ended up with the perfect bag for what we need!

5 Stars Great camera
This is a great video camera. It is not HD but the picture quality is excellent. The colors are great and the images are very sharp. I have worked in video production for the past 8 years and I can tell you that I have always been pretty disappointed by the quality of most consumer cameras. The canon FS200 however, far exceeded my expectations. This is by far the best camera you can get in this price range. The only draw back that I have found is that it doesn’t do the best in low light conditions, this however, is true for every consumer camera in and beyond this price range. I would recommend this camera to anyone who is looking for high quality visuals but does not want to venture into the world of HD.

5 Stars problem with MOD extention SOLVED
Just happy with my new purchase. I was reading others review and see they have problem with MOD extention, I had this problem too but no longer, I have tried many different software today to convert it to AVI or MPG ( include SDcopy) but I did something funny and that was easiest and couldn’t believe how easy was solution.

All I do to convert MOD files is to change .mod to .MPG or .AVI manually, I mean just rename extention to another format and it will work!!!

1 Star this camera is crap
this a camera is crap. I just bought it and have been trying to make it work for 4 days now. Problems:

the $[...] digital camera that also takes video had way better video quality.

the camera and the software that comes with it doesn’t work with a mac

you need to have every cable hook up at once to import video 2 power cords and the usb (it’s annoying when your infront of your home computer imposible anywhere else)

MOD files suck nothing opens them and you have to two or three steps to convert them into mpg or mov ( with all the damn wires everywhere )

the only reason I bought this camera was because it has an external mic port. but so what if the camera is, well it feels deliberatly annoying.

1 Star Incompatible video format
This would have been a winner hands down for the one feature that it has that every other camcorder in it’s price range lacks, an audio input jack for external microphone. Every other camcorder in it’s price range had neglected the need for good audio.

But, the video format, according to another reviewer, is not compatible with most professional editing software. Sorry. FAIL.

5 Stars great standard camcorder
I did a lot of research and decided the best route for me was to stay with a standard format rather than HD do to the additional expense of having to buy a newer DVD player and a more powerful computer. The software is not great but works…not very intuitive. Once I figured out the software burning a movie is easy and looks great played on my upconverting DVD player and viewed on my LCD TV.
