5 Stars Great Off-Brand Battery
This battery works great and has a long life in my camera. Even with a fair amount of review on the screen after shooting my pictures my battery lasts for a good amount of shooting time and recharges quickly. I swap between the Canon battery that came with the camera and this one. I don’t use the flash very often so this may attribute to the really long life I get out of it.

5 Stars Opteka LP-E5 batteries
I bought 2 of these Opteka LP-E5 batteries as back-up to my expensive Canon brand batteries. After using them for over a month now, they work just a good and last just as long as the expensive Canon batteries. I will not be buying any more expensive Canon brand batteries when I can buy 3 Opteka batteries for the price of 1 Canon battery.

5 Stars Worked great!
Having a new camera for taking pictures of museum artifacts (primarily), I needed spare batteries. Problem was that the OEM battery was ~$70 USD each which would reduce the number of spares I could pack. Also, the OEM charger was AC only, so would not allow for recharging while in transit. Opteka to the rescue! Inexpensive batteries and a dual AC & DC charger fit my needs exactly. I used the batteries for all day shooting of museum aircraft (which means lots of flash usage) and they performed at least as well as the OEM battery. Recharging was quick also, being less than 90 minutes in the car, so I could always have charged batteries on hand. Excellent value and performance overall, highly recommended for the amateur photog, perhaps even for the pro.

I bought this for a new Canon T1i and it works great. The car charger is a nice touch. I can’t say that it lasts twice as long as the Canon battery, but it lasts at least as long.

I am a professional photographer and have owned a variety of pro version cameras. I have bought ‘no name’ brands and the camera name brand batteries for all my cameras (Fuji and Canon). It really does make a difference. The actual name brand will last much longer. I bought two Canon LP-E5 Battery Packs through Amazon-by far the lowest price of ANY other retailer selling the Canon brand! Once I find the product I am looking for price dictates where I purchase. My batteries have staying power! This was a good purchase.

This battery look ok but when i compared to original Canon battery there is little difference between the text so i suspect this might not be original canon battery or Canon may release batteries different version for DSL cameras and spare batteries. I haven’t used the battery yet so i cannot comment on this battery. But i believe it is a good battery

1 Star A total waste of money!!!!!
I bought this battery in November, charged it and put it in my camera bag. A week later (early December) I went to use it, and it showed that the battery needed charging. Strange, I thought, and re-charged it. Same scenario. I never even got to use the thing. It is worthless.

1 Star Simply doesn’t work with my D90
Although it looks and feels not bad, it simply doesn’t work with my D90. So I’m returning it. A little disappointed because the Opteka D90 grip got very good review.

1 Star Would not work in D90
Nikon’s charger would show this battery as fully charged, but my D90 would show it as a dead battery. I have returned this battery and will be buying the OEM from Nikon. Don’t waste your time with this 3rd party battery, go for the OEM. I received this as a gift, and Amazon was amazing in helping me return this item for a refund.

1 Star Opteka EN-EL3E Won’t Work In New Nikon D90
Purchased the Opteka EN-EL3E for my new Nikon D90. Charged it in the Nikon charger and even though the charger shows it charged the D90 shows it is not so battery will not work in D90. Contacted 47st Photo with two emails asking to return for replacement and they do not answer. Save your money and your time and buy a genuine Nikon battery, at least their support people answer you!

Save yourself some trouble and buy the real Nikon battery. The new EN-EL3e is an improved battery from it’s predecessor. I purchased this Opteka for my D90 and it DID NOT recognize it. If I were you I would not risk it. It was cheap enough for me to try, but not worth the money or RISK of you do try it on your Nikon and something goes wrong so I am returning it to Amazon. From now on, I play no games an only buy Nikon original stuff. Amazon has a very good price on the Nikon branded battery. You pay for what you get, in this case I got nothing though

2 Stars just a battery that does what it should
WAY too expensive for what it is: just a rechargeable battery that is worth about $5. Canon should be proud of themselves for EXTREME price gouging. They could charge $10 for this item, make a huge profit doing so, and not alienate their customers.

The electrical capacity is ok, but not great. And the “smart” feature is slightly better than useless. Yes, it is nice to see how much charge is remaining, but that feature is not worth the $50+ that Canon robs you for.

I tried a generic battery for about $10 (including its own charger), but that battery was physically slightly too big and it jammed in the camera and had to be pried out. This Canon battery fits properly, so I’m stuck buying Canon batteries until I can find a generic that fits.

5 Stars One just isn’t enough…
For anyone who thinks this battery is expensive, I say “You must be new to digital photography!”. Ever since I got a camcorder a decade ago, then later started using little digital cameras, and now finally the Canon EOS 5D Mark II, battery power has been an issue. Gone are the days of mechanical SLR’s with little button batteries for the meter!

Today’s electronic image-making devices use major power. Without a good battery, you have nothing but a brick. I have developed a habit of having plenty of power available. I purchased the battery grip so I could put two batteries in the camera, and have the AA-battery clip in reserve. I want to take pictures not drive tent stakes with my brick!

These batteries provide plenty of power to shoot. But as the manual warns, the more you review your images, the more you use Image Stabilization; the more you auto-focus, the faster the batteries will drain. And if it’s cold outside…. You want to have power to spare if you’re serious about making images. These are the batteries you want. Don’t fool yourself into saving a couple dollars on a generic battery – you will not get a real savings. They don’t provide as many charge cycles and they don’t report their status as well. It’s not worth the savings!

I bought this one for ~$60 on amazon. It’s a bargain already since its original price (last year) was $120 and up. This is a high quality, high capacity battery with some integrated information chip (which show you the history of battery, recharge, no. of shots taken, etc.). It’s not something luxury – just a “nice to have” feature.

Eventhough it claim to have 1800maH, it last about the same as my OEM canon batt. For the price, it does its job and no error code issue like some ppl mention on non-OEM batt.

Comments: I own three of these batteries and love them. They are great for the price. They claim they are 1800mah but they only last about as long as the normal canon battery so I believe they are rated incorrectly. I use them in conjunction with my Canon battery in an Opteka battery grip with no issues. Great product, definitely going to buy more in the future as batteries run out much faster than my memory card fills up!

5 Stars High Quality Long Life
My new DSLR camera came with only one battery. I wanted at least one extra, but after locating these Opteka 1800 mAh batteries for such a great price, I took a chance and bought three extras. Although I have only used these extra batteries for about 6 weeks, they actually perform better than the high-end battery that came with my camera. I took 107 pictures with my 12.2mp camera on one battery and never needed to change batteries. Perhaps this type of performance will reduce with age, but I am completely happy right now. When I leave on one of my photo shoots, I take three fully charged batteries and four 8gb cards with me and I am confident I’ll never have any worries about running out of power or space.

5 Stars It is definitely an 1800mAh battery
The battery is as pictured. It has 1800mAh stamped on the battery itself. That withstanding, the battery lasts a bit longer than my original canon battery as it should being 1800mAh vs the canon original 1080mAh battery (mAh=milliamp Hours).

This battery is used in my “Canon Rebel T1i camera with attached Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Lens” (which I also purchased from Amazon, by the way).

I have been using this battery a few weeks now and have had no problems with it.

I ordered the battery from Amazon and received it in a timely manner.

Indeed, for $12.95 you can’t go wrong in purchasing this battery.
