User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars NIKON D90 camera Bag
Great product for NIKON D90 SLR cameras

Love the style of this bag as it fits my D90 with a 18 – 105 lens.

Have a similar bag [LowePro TLZmini] for my NIKON Coolpix 5700 but this bag is deeper so that the D90 fits with the longer lens ….. Features that I like are the padding that protects my gear from the everyday bumps and knocks that happen when transporting my camera as well as the external and internal pockets that hold my extra “Film’ and spare batteries.

Size of this bag will not accept an extra lens but I never carry an extra lens so I prefer the snug fit so the camera does not ‘flop’ around in the bag. {I carry my camera while rock climbing} If you carry extra lens buy a traditional camera bag.

Very pleased with the construction fit and durability of the materials in this product

GREAT PRICE TOO!

Joe

5 Stars Perfect for the Nikon D3000
I was buying a case for a Nikon D3000 with the 18-55mm zoom lens. Based on the reviews I read on this site, I initially selected the Lowepro TLZ Mini. I discovered the fit was a bit too tight for my camera, perhaps the D3000 18-55mm lens is slightly longer than other similar 18-55 lenses.

The lens cap was against the bottom of the case, so I was concerned that any pressure on the bottom may damage the lens. The fit on the top was tight too and you had to wiggle the camera to get the neck strap in.

I returned the case and bought the Lowepro TLZ 1 instead and have been very happy with the purchase. It’s just the right size for the D3000. There are 2 supports inside the case that give space between the lens and bottom of the case. Great case!

5 Stars Great
It was exactly what I wanted, and my D60 fits perfectly with the lens. It is perfect on the go.

4 Stars Nicely fits the Canon 7D with the kit lens.
I have owned the mini version of this case for my Olympus E-510 for about three years now and have not have any issues with it, so I though I’d buy this full sized version for my recently purchased Canon 7D, and I am happy to report that it fits the Canon nicely. With the kit lens (28-135) the 7D has a little wiggle room on both sides and about half an inch form the back of the camera to the top of the bag. By folding the 7D’s strap up behind the camera it fills that extra space nicely.

This is not the case to get if you like to travel with a lot of accessories and lenses though since there is not much room left when you put a camera like the 7D in it. It has a small pouch on the underside of the cover, perfect for a compact flash card or two, and another larger pouch on the front of the case. The larger pouch can hold the charger, a cable or two, and a few more compact flash cards. The case also includes two little Velcro dividers to section it off if your camera is significantly smaller than the case.

The case is nicely constructed and can stand up to an occasional sprinkle of water. The padding is not very thick, but works well for minor impacts.

The one thing I don’t like about the case is the new shoulder strap. On the older mini version the ends of the shoulder strap were sown down. On the new one you get extra material hanging off the strap if you shorten it. Not only does this extra material get in the way, but also the strap is a bit less secure.

All in all… the prefect case for a larger semi-pro SLR (Canon 7D and 50D and Nikon D300s), but a bit too big for consumer level SLRs (Canon Rebel and Nikon D3000).

4 Stars Does what it’s meant to
I bought this bag for my new Nikon D5000 and it does pretty much what I want it to. The camera goes in lens down (it’s a topload) so it makes for easier getting out. At the moment, I only have an 18-55mm lens attached but it does seem that a longer lens would also fit as there’s a bit of room in the bottom. There’s a pocket for spare batteries and other small items but I don’t think there’s enough space for an additional lens without being too bulky. A solid product which I would recommend to other beginning photographers.

5 Stars Shipping!!!
I can’t rate the camera yet (I’ll add to this later) because the box just arrived, so this review is just for Amazon. I had it sent Two Day Shipping, and it showed up at my door less than 24 hours later!!! Wow.

5 Stars Was not expecting so much!!
I was looking for a simple camera not too expensive just to have pics of birthday parties and trips. found a deal but this camera is way better thatn i thought for its price. starting with the size…it feels very confortable in the hand and is small.

picture quality is incredible for a point and shot digital camera, in 2 days using it i’ve taken pics that seem like taken with profesional cameras…it works incredibly well in the night with no flash and captures true colors with no flash as well (personaly i dont like using flash)

i works good in auto mode you feel like a pro taking pics. havent tried face detection or smile detection that much bec im not interested in those features so much.

usd cable is not the standar but i can use the sd cards to my laptop if have no cable

the start is not that fast but is compensated with the quickly shootting..

the anti shaking and vibration reduction works fine.

in conclusion my only complaint would be with the start time its about 4 seconds, all other features are just the best!! i would recomend this camera !

5 Stars Great camera and very fast shipping
I put two day shipping on the camera and it arrived in only one day! That alone made me happy. I have only had the camera for about a day and have only had a few hours to play around with it but so far I have no complaints. There are no problems with it and it was secure in the box it was shipped in. The one thing I haven’t done yet is use the Nikon software that came with the camera. I did install it but didn’t transfer the picture I took to my PC yet. It had no problems installing on Windows 7 64-bit though.

5 Stars Typical Nikon Quality
I replaced a Canon ELPH SD700 with this camera. The Nikon does not have the focus and lighting problems associated with Canon. I also like using the date imprint on prints and Nikon allows you to include this option at any resolution. Using maximum resolution at ASA 1600 is beyond most digital cameras.

5 Stars Travel perfect………..
I got my Nikon Coolpix two days before leaving for a two week trip to Thailand. My son-in-law actually advised me to get this camera for it’s simplicity and easy to use qualities. As usual,I am always late in getting organized. I ordered the camera from Amazon and thought there would be no way I’d get the camera before I left. It arrived in plenty of time. I had plenty of time on the plane to ‘study’ the instructions. Finally, in Bangkok and ready to shot pictures.

I had a blast on the trip and a ball using my new Nikon. It is so easy to use and takes great pictures. I have a wonderful pictoral history of my Thailand trip. I have clear, beautiful pictures of elephants and a cyrstal clear photos of ants marching one by one on top of a ledge. What fun. I’m not technical genius when it comes to new gadgets, but this Nikon turned me into a Ansel Adams, in my mind.

Come over I’ll show you the big elephants and the tiny ants.

4 Stars Nikon Coolpix
The compactness is impressive — the ability to have so much in such a small package. I use it mostly in macro mode and is wonderful

I like taking pictures in natural light without a flash and this camera does very well

5 Stars Great point and shoot camera!!!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this camera. I have had an Olympus Stylus 730 for several years and love it, but I wanted an upgrade although not yet ready for a SLR. This camera fit my needs perfectly. I wanted the full control manual settings to get me ready for the SLR, but wasn’t ready for the cost because I am still learning about photography. This camera is definitely a great deal at right around $300. The 24x optical zoom is awesome. I was used to 3x, which is awful for distant landscape shots. I love the tilt screen display, this is a very functional feature. I was also looking for a digital camera with a viewfinder; although this model’s viewfinder is the digital display it serves it’s purpose. The continuous shot mode is great; shooting at around 12 frames per second…this makes getting that perfect shot during a sporting event or dance recital very easy.

The camera has a great weight to it and is very comfortable to hold. I love that it has a flash release button so if you don’t intend on using the flash you just don’t open it. The menu is easy to use. Battery life seems to be around 4 hours and only takes about 2 to fully charge. The camera comes with a lens cap and a neck strap, usb cable, tv cable, battery charger and battery. I purchased a spare battery and recommend you search for a true Nikon EL-EN5 battery…I got mine for under $20. The mfg recommends only using their brand, I concur. From past experience I have seen off brand batteries mess the ports up so the camera becomes unusable.

All in all if you are looking for a point and shoot with a lot of the manual capabilities of a SLR camera this is a good choice.

5 Stars Short and Sweet … I LOVE IT!
Short, sweet and to the point! I LOVE my new Nikon! As an early wedding, Christmas, birthday present to myself, I bought the Nikon P90! Okay, so really I told people that it was “saved” in my shopping cart and when I was buying a lightning deal, I just checked out with the camera too! (shhh..don’t tell anyone!)

I like my camera’s simple and easy to use with sharp images. I got exactly that! Excellent! My first shot out of the box was crystal clear! No adjustments, no settings – I did NOTHING but point and shoot! Wow – it was sooooooooo clear! I will post that picture for you all to see!

My only regret? I didn’t buy it sooner!

4 Stars Nikon P90
Picture and stabliztion is good overall a very good camera. However, I brought this camera for the camera as well as for the quick video feature and the video quality was not very good and the zoom feature did not work for the video like for pictures. I thought because the pixels were higher for pictures the videos well also be better but I was very disappointed by the video quality. I am thinking now I have to buy a camcorder for the better video.

5 Stars Great Grab Camera
I’m used to using Nikon’s full-sized D-SLRs with vertical grips and the wonderful Nikon VR lenses. I love them dearly and will always use them as my cameras of choice.

I had purchased a Coolpix 8800 a few years ago and gave it mediocre reviews. It is much larger, again, with the vertical grip, but it is rugged and works well, although it has a relatively small file-size, dimmer eye-level viewer and smaller screen. It allows me lots of versatility, but I wanted something smaller, with larger file-sizes.

The P90 offers that, far better movie choices and many more options for shooting right out of my purse. This is a camera that can give me professional quality and versatility in non-flash situations that are unmatched by other grab cameras without the bulk of my professional systems.

The lack of range of f-stops loses versatility in important areas. It has no hot shoe, so it can only be gerry-rigged for complex flash situations. I really don’t plan to use it on that level. It uses 4-1 compressed JPEG images, which take the quality down a bit and has no option for RAW images or uncompressed TIFFs. The zoom seems jumpy, but that may just be a situation where I need practice.

At extreme optical and digital zoom, combined with the best VR system I have used, it produce some very nice results hand-held. I can hardly wait for my next encounter with the red tail hawk in the marsh next to my home! It’s also nice to have an actual wide-angle option.

One of the main reasons I purchased this unit is that I love Arches and Canyonlands NPs and last year when I was there, in the high desert, the winds howeled! The downside of that was dust on the sensors in my D-SLRs, even the self-cleaning D90 and DX300. There is no worse feeling than getting back to a motel, uploading hundreds of photos, and finding that you have to retouch virtually every one. Welcome back to film! With a sealed system,I can wander all over and not worry about dust!

So far, I’ve only had the camera a few days, I haven’t taken any spectacular shots to share. I still haven’t taken anything I would want at 20X30, so I’ll reserve judgement on compressed JPEGs. They may be better than I expect. I found that I love the “food” scene mode! It has a color temperature adjustment right on-screen. Since this will be an available light camera (I despise on-camera flash), this will be a useful mode.

I will probably update this report after I’ve done some meaningful shooting. A 4gig SD card holds almost 650 shots, so quality is going to be a big issue. The battery has a limited life, so I will be purchasing extras. I just have to remember it’s a backup! If it’s a good one for me, it will be the best camera the average amateur will ever own, and that is not ego talking. I am just uber-picky…

2 Stars Bad image quality
I have used sony and canon cameras all my life. This was the first Nikon camera i got. Picture quality isn’t as great as others although some features seem to be neat.

5 Stars digital camera review
Excellent camera for the cost. Would recommend it to anyone. Very easy to transfet to computer.

5 Stars Great product for the money – can use rechargable
Hi, I bought this item from Amazon for their Thanksgiving sale. I should say it is a great product for the money I paid. I have used several 3x optical zoom cameras earlier . So, as far as optical zoom is concerned, I love this.

Lots of features in it. People who rate tis item as “crappy” did not read the manual for sure.

We can use rechargable batteries as it comes with the 1.1 version firmware from Nikon. Even if your camera has 1.0 firmware, you can easily download and install the firmware with almost ultra low work effort.

I think most of te pieces sold by Amazon come with 1.1 firmware. It is decently liht in weight, easy to use and does great as far as focusing. it has all possible options to shoot all types of pictures.

I will continue to write more as I explore more and more territories in the camera….. Good luck!

5 Stars Nikon Coolpix L100
Excellent product and results. It takes awhile for a novice like me to learn the various functions and how to execute their commands but it’s amazing what this small camera’s capabilities are; particularly considering the price range.

4 Stars Great Camera
This is a Great Camera. I read the reviews after I purchased it. I agree that after you take it out of the box and just start shooting pictures, they may not come out very good. That is why you HAVE TO READ THE MANUAL! After reading the manual, I LEARNED how to take great pictures indoors, outdoors, low lighting, high lighting, it all does fantastic. The pictures with this camera are perfect! Very bright, sharp, detailed, etc. If you learn how, you wont have a dull colored picture.

Tip —- Inside pics can be taken in the Auto Mode, but NOT the Easy Auto Mode. Also make sure you use the flash.

Tip —- Very close up pics inches away, you should use the Micro or Macro mode. You can experiment with the flash.

At first I thought I got ripped off as the pictures looked terrible. After reading the manual, I learned how to take awsome, sharp, great looking pictures.

You just have to read and learn how to use all the options such as vibration, motion, etc.

This isnt a point and shoot camera. Thats why it cost more than a $89 camera. Its a high quality camera for a low price of around $200. I am very, very picky on picture quality. This camera does great!

So far, I think the battery life is better than the cameras I have had in the past that I paid just under $100 for. It does take 4 AA batteries rather than 2 batteries. You do not want to use rechargable batteries. Just get the lithium batteries for about $7 for a pack of 4, and they last a good long time for any family get together. If your on vacation, you can spend about $21 bucks and have about 3 sets for the whole week, even though you probably wont need them all.

I had a fujifilm finepix 5mp camera that took awsome picutes with 3x optical zoom. I traded it for a samsung 7mp 3x optical, but was disappointed. My new nikon coolpix 10mp 15 optical takes just as great pictures as my old fuji film, but I now get 15x opt. zoom.

I took a picture of our Christmas tree from across the room with my new Nikon and my guitar amplifier was in the picture. After I took the picture, I zoomed on on the picture (after it was already taken), and I could read the words on the amplifier knobs, from all the way across the room. That really blew me away!!!

If you are willing to read the manual and LEARN about the camera, then this is for you. IF your not into tech stuff and learning about how to use something (like my elderly parents), then get a cheaper low end camera.
