1 Star REALLY SAD…
I AM REALLY SAD ABOUT THIS CAMERA, FIRST 2 OR 3 DAYS, THE CAMERA WORKS GREAT, AFTER THAT, THE CAMERA START TO SHOW A BAD QUALITY IN THE LCD SCREEN (BLURRY), I AM REALLY SAD, THE FIRST PICTURES WERE SO GREAT, BUT UNFORTUNATELY MY ITEM WAS DEFECTIVE,PROBABLY I AM GOING TO LOOK FOR ANOTHER BRAND,I TRIED EVERYTHING, CHANGED SETTINGS,MODES,AND NOTHING WORKS, NO CAMERA FOR CHRISTMAS TIME AND NO CAMERA FOR MY SNOWING TOWN.:(

5 Stars Awesome little camera!
I bought this camera when my C875 died (accident, no fault of Kodak). I mainly do photography as a hobby, but I’m constantly taking professional quality pics of my own children and friends’ children. I really wanted to splurge and get an SLR, but this little beauty caught my eye. 14.2 mega pixels for under $200!?! I’m so glad I gave it a chance. Once again Kodak has made me very happy. This little camera takes amazing pictures. They are so crisp and clear that nearly every shot I take is stunning…and considering that my subjects are a one year old and three year old that’s really saying something. Both the preset and manual settings are very easy to use and once you’ve played with them a while it isn’t hard to have your pictures turn out perfect. I’ve also found that the size of the camera is a plus. It’s small enough to travel well, yet it isn’t flat and tiny like some other point and shoots. Maybe it’s just me, but it’s nice to have something to hold on to.

All in all, this is an awesome little camera for your money and I would definitely recommend it! The picture quality is amazing.

1 Star battery life is horrible
I have used $70 worth of batteries in four months. I called Kodak and told them that the camera keeps eating batteries, it shuts off by itself all of the time, and it will take a picture and then the picture will disappear. I sent the camera in to have it fixed and they sent it back to me without fixing it. The “supervisor” that I spoke to told me to just replace the battery. Not any help at all. In the warranty it shows that they will replace the camera, fix the camera, or give you your money back and they have refused to do any of the above. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!

5 Stars Great Product!
This camera is awesome! Picture quality is beautiful. The video quality is also very good. It’s easy to use, light and very portable. It doesn’t fit in your pocket but it’s light and easy to carry in a small camera case. The original battery lasted for several hundred pix. I had purchases a rechargable one because of the comments that I had read before I purchased. I would definitely recommend it.

2 Stars Battery Compartment not good
This camera takes nice pictures- but it burns through batteries pretty fast, and I like to use AA lithiums- well even though the manual says they work, the battery compartment door doesn’t close tightly so that there is always contact- my camera would then not always work- you have to buy the more expensive CRV3 battery to always have contact- and it’ll burn pretty quick through those, too.

I’ll be returning mine, and going back to Canon (I lost my Canon Powershot). This is the second Kodak I’ve tried and the construction of their cameras just doesn’t seem very good. Nice features, nice pictures, poor quality construction.

Also- be careful if you buy your camera through another store at Amazon- Amazon has a great return policy, their stores here may not- I have to pay a 10% restocking fee, plus return shipping, and I only had 15 days to try the camera (luckily I decided to do the return within 13 days). READ THE STORES RETURN POLICY BEFORE BUYING, I didn’t.

4 Stars Nikon Coolpix
The compactness is impressive — the ability to have so much in such a small package. I use it mostly in macro mode and is wonderful

I like taking pictures in natural light without a flash and this camera does very well

5 Stars Great point and shoot camera!!!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this camera. I have had an Olympus Stylus 730 for several years and love it, but I wanted an upgrade although not yet ready for a SLR. This camera fit my needs perfectly. I wanted the full control manual settings to get me ready for the SLR, but wasn’t ready for the cost because I am still learning about photography. This camera is definitely a great deal at right around $300. The 24x optical zoom is awesome. I was used to 3x, which is awful for distant landscape shots. I love the tilt screen display, this is a very functional feature. I was also looking for a digital camera with a viewfinder; although this model’s viewfinder is the digital display it serves it’s purpose. The continuous shot mode is great; shooting at around 12 frames per second…this makes getting that perfect shot during a sporting event or dance recital very easy.

The camera has a great weight to it and is very comfortable to hold. I love that it has a flash release button so if you don’t intend on using the flash you just don’t open it. The menu is easy to use. Battery life seems to be around 4 hours and only takes about 2 to fully charge. The camera comes with a lens cap and a neck strap, usb cable, tv cable, battery charger and battery. I purchased a spare battery and recommend you search for a true Nikon EL-EN5 battery…I got mine for under $20. The mfg recommends only using their brand, I concur. From past experience I have seen off brand batteries mess the ports up so the camera becomes unusable.

All in all if you are looking for a point and shoot with a lot of the manual capabilities of a SLR camera this is a good choice.

5 Stars Short and Sweet … I LOVE IT!
Short, sweet and to the point! I LOVE my new Nikon! As an early wedding, Christmas, birthday present to myself, I bought the Nikon P90! Okay, so really I told people that it was “saved” in my shopping cart and when I was buying a lightning deal, I just checked out with the camera too! (shhh..don’t tell anyone!)

I like my camera’s simple and easy to use with sharp images. I got exactly that! Excellent! My first shot out of the box was crystal clear! No adjustments, no settings – I did NOTHING but point and shoot! Wow – it was sooooooooo clear! I will post that picture for you all to see!

My only regret? I didn’t buy it sooner!

4 Stars Nikon P90
Picture and stabliztion is good overall a very good camera. However, I brought this camera for the camera as well as for the quick video feature and the video quality was not very good and the zoom feature did not work for the video like for pictures. I thought because the pixels were higher for pictures the videos well also be better but I was very disappointed by the video quality. I am thinking now I have to buy a camcorder for the better video.

5 Stars Great Grab Camera
I’m used to using Nikon’s full-sized D-SLRs with vertical grips and the wonderful Nikon VR lenses. I love them dearly and will always use them as my cameras of choice.

I had purchased a Coolpix 8800 a few years ago and gave it mediocre reviews. It is much larger, again, with the vertical grip, but it is rugged and works well, although it has a relatively small file-size, dimmer eye-level viewer and smaller screen. It allows me lots of versatility, but I wanted something smaller, with larger file-sizes.

The P90 offers that, far better movie choices and many more options for shooting right out of my purse. This is a camera that can give me professional quality and versatility in non-flash situations that are unmatched by other grab cameras without the bulk of my professional systems.

The lack of range of f-stops loses versatility in important areas. It has no hot shoe, so it can only be gerry-rigged for complex flash situations. I really don’t plan to use it on that level. It uses 4-1 compressed JPEG images, which take the quality down a bit and has no option for RAW images or uncompressed TIFFs. The zoom seems jumpy, but that may just be a situation where I need practice.

At extreme optical and digital zoom, combined with the best VR system I have used, it produce some very nice results hand-held. I can hardly wait for my next encounter with the red tail hawk in the marsh next to my home! It’s also nice to have an actual wide-angle option.

One of the main reasons I purchased this unit is that I love Arches and Canyonlands NPs and last year when I was there, in the high desert, the winds howeled! The downside of that was dust on the sensors in my D-SLRs, even the self-cleaning D90 and DX300. There is no worse feeling than getting back to a motel, uploading hundreds of photos, and finding that you have to retouch virtually every one. Welcome back to film! With a sealed system,I can wander all over and not worry about dust!

So far, I’ve only had the camera a few days, I haven’t taken any spectacular shots to share. I still haven’t taken anything I would want at 20X30, so I’ll reserve judgement on compressed JPEGs. They may be better than I expect. I found that I love the “food” scene mode! It has a color temperature adjustment right on-screen. Since this will be an available light camera (I despise on-camera flash), this will be a useful mode.

I will probably update this report after I’ve done some meaningful shooting. A 4gig SD card holds almost 650 shots, so quality is going to be a big issue. The battery has a limited life, so I will be purchasing extras. I just have to remember it’s a backup! If it’s a good one for me, it will be the best camera the average amateur will ever own, and that is not ego talking. I am just uber-picky…

2 Stars Not easy for mom to use, buttons terrible.
I expected the latest Canon powershot for around $200 to OFCOURSE AUTOmatically be awesome. I will not give a long review. About functionality and ease of use- if you enjoy pressing buttons only to have another function take over instead, buy this camera. If you enjoy only being able to use your fingernails to select, a battery door that will surely snap off sooner than later, and pictures that are not as sharp as the previous models, then go ahead. Ofcourse I have been able to take some good shots with the legendary Canon name, but I am very upset that someone bought this for my Mom. She refuses to use it based on hours of frustration with buttons that were cheaply designed for profit, not the true enjoyment of the user. The next powershot will probably be great, you just never know.

4 Stars Love my little green camera!!!
This is the second Canon camera I’ve owned. I just gave my Canon SD750 to my son so he can take pictures of his carpentry work. I needed a camera with more MPG’s to photograph my Jewelry for my new website. I just love the ease of getting good quality pictures that show the beauty of the Swarovski crystals I make my jewelry with. Great sparkle quality!!!!!

My camera is always close at hand, you never know when something beautiful will catch your eye, out comes my Canon. Point and voila!! a great picture.

4 Stars Great Camera at Great Price
Pros

1. very light weight, small but easy to handle, menu easy to manage/navigate

2. improved quality pic taking. auto adjust to different environment/lighting, auto adjust to shaky hand. wide screen option is provided.

3. good looking design, multicolor, i got a green color cam to join Obama’s “Green xyz” rah rah.

4. good pricing. $149. cheaper than my AS Powershot

Cons

1. battery. need to walk around with a battery charger. inconvenient. nice if rechargeable from PC’s USB port.

2. memory. camera comes without memory card, fortunately, i can swap the card from my other PowerShot cam.

3. cam pouch. nice if a small cloth pouch is provided.

overall, great price for a great camera.

5 Stars Great little camera
This is our second (or third?) small digital camera. The first couple were first generation models with minimum features and resolution. Then we started using big DSLRs. I expected this ‘little camera’ to have minimal quality, but I was wrong. This camera approaches the DSLRs in both features and image quality. I was especially impressed with the video it took. The only negative I’ve seen is that when you zoom in at some point it switches over to ‘digital zoom’ and the quality drops dramatically. This can be turned off, so it’s really not a problem, just something to be aware of. My wife was looking for a small camera she could have with us when the DSLR was too big and this little guy more than fills the bill.

5 Stars For most people
This camera is not your average camera. I must confess I had Canon cameras ever since I started purchasing digital cameras. Therefore I might be bias by giving an opinion without testing the others out there. Although, I did at one point own a Casio Slim camera and was satisfied. However, the picture quality and the features that a Canon offers I must say beats the rest by far.

Good luck and happy snapping.
