User Ratings and Reviews

1 Star False advertisement, plus it’s not a good product.
I was supposed to be the photographer at a friend’s party, and I was going to use this for everyone to take their own photos. Well, now I’ll have to make do with the timer. I’m returning it because of the false claim that it works on my D3000 and I suggest everyone do the same, even if it is only $10. This is directly from the instruction book: RC-2 Remote Control for Nikon D40, D40X, D70S, D70, D50, 8400, 8800, F75, F65, F55, N65, N75, Nuvis S, Lite Touch. There are more for Canon and other brands, but this remote does not work for my D3000 like the title suggests.

The one thing any small piece of technology like this needs is a small loop so that the owner can put a string through it so they don’t lose it. It disappointed me on all fronts.

5 Stars great buy!
very impressed with this item. you would rather buy this compared to other brands and is way more cheaper!

5 Stars Love it!
With your nikon there should be a timer setting that you can page through until a remote shows up (with or without a timer too) that enables this. I can use it in front, back and on the sides of the camera. We even played with bouncing it around another room to this cam and it worked great. Feels solid and very well engineered. Will be buying more for my family (my dad has a D80.)

1 Star Opteka Rc-2 wireless remote
Although it came with fast shipping, gets a 5 star for portability, and is exactly what I “thought” I wanted, I am very dissappointed in this! It clearly states in the posting that it is for a Nikon D60, when I actually received it at home though it clearly states in the information guidebook that this is NOT for the D60!! Doesn’t work for my camera!! I only paid $10 for it, so not worth the hassle of returning it for a refund, but still upsets me that I paid the company for something that they misrepresented to me! Most likely a great remote if you’re lucky enough to actually have it work with your camera.

5 Stars Excellent wireless remote
I use this with nikon d3000 in quick release mode and it works in virtually all direction such as sides and back , did not need to train as inside pamphlet suggested, range is pretty good too. I am completely satisfied.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Works as you’d expect it to
Buy it if you need the distance without line of sight. The infrared remotes are completley annoying and inferior to this one.

5 Stars Best toy ever!
This product works very well. I use it with a Canon Rebel and it does exactly what it says it does. The is probably the best purchase I have made for my camera…the only trouble I had was in Burst Mode it kept going and going (could have been user error) overall, great product.

4 Stars Works well
No more running while the timer is ticking down. And it is a great solution for long exposures on macro work to avoid motion artifacts and for sharpest focus. Note when you receive the package, the included batteries are wrapped in a clear plastic that is not obvious and isn’t mentioned in the manual. They will appear to be dead because there is no electrical contact till the clear packaging is removed.

5 Stars Wireless Remote Review
I’ve used the remote release in various wather conditions…even wrapped it in a “baggie” and used it on several rainy days. I put the camera and remote release in a plexiglass housing and took a few underwater photos of coral (shallow) and fishes….Though it is not advertised as such, the radio transmitter device works just fine underwater at a distance of at least 20 feet. I like the device and will buy one more for a spare.

5 Stars Perfect for Family Portraits
I purchased this product because I wanted to take family portraits and the first one I purchased didn’t work well at all It was good only at a distance of 13ft. This one can handle 300+ feet. It worked like a charm and I got great family photos without spending an $800 sitting fee for a photographer who would not give me the copyrights. I saved a bundle!

Pentax Remote Control F for Pentax Digital Cameras

Pentax Remote Control F for Pentax Digital Cameras

Pentax has been a leader in the photographic field for many years. Many Pentax innovations have become standards in the industry. Pentax’s enthusiasm and devotion towards the development of high-quality products have thrived over the years and continues to be stronger than ever. The Zoom LS Remote Control F will fire the shutter release after 3 seconds on select cameras with remote capability. It works up to 15 feet in front of the camera.

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars Doesn’t work very well
The product description says it works up to 15 feet away. I’m not sure if there are conditions to this statement, but all I know is that it doesn’t work that far away for me. I have to be right next to the camera when outdoors in the bright sunlight. I purchased this item so I could do family group photos more easily. I was tired of trying to run and pose for a picture before the camera timer ran down. This summer we were all posing out on the beach and I never could get the remote to work unless I was practically standing nose to lens with my camera. I’m not sure if it works better indoors, but if you’re planning to use it outside, I can tell you it’s not a good choice.

5 Stars Pentax remote control F
Works good with my K20D. Tried it a few of times, works from at least 15ft away (thats the farthest i’ve tried it so far)

5 Stars Remote control
This remote is small enough to take a picture with out any one looking at the photo being able to see that you had the remote in your hands. It is about the size of an average man’s thumb

4 Stars Indispensable Remote – Very Good Function & Value
If possible, I would RATE THIS ITEM 4.75 STARS

I’ve been using the Pentax Remote Control F with a K20D camera body and BG2 battery pack and have high praise for the small device. For me, the wireless remote performs the task of operating a K20D camera and after 5 months of uses, without any hiccups and has never let me down. The unit is very compact and the engineers at Pentax found a way to store the device inside the BG2 battery pack. A smart design feature that I appreciate very much as I know I will never be without the wireless remote

A side note, when pointing the near IR LED on the remote with in the field of view of the lens you are using, the near IR LED at the pointing end of the wireless remote is visible to a K20D camera and appears in photos as a small light source in the operator’s hand. Hence, if the operator of the remote includes themselves into a photo, it is advisable to bounce the IR signal off of a surface such that the LED on the remote does not appear conspicuous in photos taken with the device.

As stated by other reviewers, the Wireless Remote Control F is very small, not much larger than the size of 2 SD memory cards end to end, approximately twice as thick and easy to lose. Therefore, it would be very convenient and without altering the exterior dimension of the device, if a small pass through sectional could be cut out from one of the corners and or modify the housing of the remote so a small key ring could loop through the remote. That way, if a user is without a BG2 battery pack, the wireless remote could be easily clipped and secured to a camera case or bag.

As a whole, the price to value and function for the Pentax Wireless Remote F is excellent and a device I recommend every K20D user to have.

Minus 0.25 for no secure storage method other than the BG2 battery pack.

1 Star Never worked
I was not able to use this remote for more than a month after ordering because I was out of the country. When I got back, I opened the package and tried to use it but it never worked. Since more than 30 days have passed, it doesn’t make sense to return it. I’ll stick to my cable remote.

In addition, it looks quite cheap and very small & light (easy to drop & lose)

5 Stars A good buy
Bought this to use with my D90. I also have a wireless, but sometime it does not work. This wired remote, however, never failed me. It is compact and light and reasonably price. It works perfectly with my D90.

5 Stars Love that Nikon Product!
The product was perfect for my needs. Received exactly what mentioned on the product description. Excellent service and delivery, really deserves a 5-STAR rating. Keep up the good works.

4 Stars Nikon Remote Release Cord MCDC2
Great remote for Nikon D5000. Better than the wireless version.

Adorama Remote Release Cord for the Nikon D90/D5000 Digital SLR Cameras, 3 Feet Long (MC-DC2)

5 Stars Bought it for my D90
Fantastic shutter release for Long exposure! I use it with my Nikon D90. Not much to say, but works as it should.

5 Stars Great product
Great item for taking pictures. I took some excellent delayed shutter photos with my D90 and this. I couldn’t have done it without this, but I should point out that I also couldn’t have done without my D90 either. This shutter release is simple to use in every way and light to carry. I have even used it for some covert pictures that I wanted to take when I didn’t want people to see me handling my camera.

Overall, great product, worth the money and really the best way to take really delayed shuttered pictures. Stop reading now and buy it!

…please don’t tell me you’re still reading this, if so, start over at the beginning.
