Canon EW78BII Lens Hood for EF 28 135mm f 3 5 5 6 IS Canon SLR Lens

Hoods offer several benefits to the photographer. Primarily the hood shades the lens from stray light that may result in an unwanted discoloration or hazing of the image, or the appearance of lens flare. Shading your lens helps improve contrast and image quality. A hood is not required to eliminate these problems, as any item used to shade the lens will provide the same protection from stray light. The hood is convenient in that it is built to offer protection while ensuring that it will not inadvertently find its way into your image. Photographers often state the protective abilities of a hood as a reason to have one.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars works perfectly
Works as its supposed to. You can reverse bayonette it when not in use. Has already protected my lens a couple times when I’ve accidentally banged it against something. Plus, it looks cool!

5 Stars doveTouch
Canon has a great camera. It provides great flexibility with a lot of help to be more user friendly. Great pictures with a little study – nice – plenty of other things to do with your time.

4 Stars A good hood for a rather expensive price
Perfect Canon hood, but you can find a cheaper alternative that can get the job done.

5 Stars Nice lens Hood
This lens hood twists on and off very easily. Much better than the old screw-on version I thought I was saving money on (but not time). Too bad the lens hood does not come with the lens. Recommended.

4 Stars Fits
The thing fits forward and backwards for easy storage. I haven’t done a lot of testing for effectiveness but if you want a hood for this lens then this is it for you.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Looks cool and protect my lens
Great looking hood and protects the lens well. I leave the hood on 100% since I don’t cover my camera and place it in the bag togeter. A bit pricy but hey, it does its job.

5 Stars More than aftermarket but worth it
Great quality and you should have one for all your glass. Helps with flare but mainly protects the lens. Combine it with a good quality UV filter for the best protection.

Canon EF 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6 USM Standard Zoom Lens for Canon SLR Camerasis not the sharpest but is a good travel lens.

5 Stars Canon EW78D Lens Hood
Every lens should have a hood not only to prevent glare and lens flare but also for protection from drops and getting banged around. It’s a small price to pay for such expensive camera lenses. I highly recommend it.

5 Stars Lens hood
Nice to have specially when you are outdors – it protects the lens when getting banged around hanging from your neck. Be careful with obstruction shadows when used with a flash.

4 Stars help to remove glare!
Works as it should be. I attached it on XSi and it fits well without gap. You can attach the hood in the opposite direction for easy storage and transportation. The price is a little expensive for a plastic piece.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars case is good, but magnet on the lid too weak
I like the case. It looks good and fits perfect on camera. only weak feature of this case is magnet on the cover flap. The magnet is too weak that it can’t keep the case closed.

5 Stars Exactly how expected it!
I bought this item along with several other items posted on Amazon and I am extremely satisfied as always when I purchased any items with Amazon. They delivered their promise exactly how they stated it.

5 Stars It works for the sd940 IS
Works with the powershot SD940 IS. Just requires that you stretch out the top cover a little bit. It’s leather and you just have to work it a little to get that perfect fit on the 940. Solid quality case.

5 Stars Fits the SD940IS
After reading some of the other reviews I wasn’t sure if the magnetic flap would close if I used this case with the SD940IS. The SD940IS is 2mm longer than the SD780IS. Well, don’t worry it fits the SD940IS perfectly like a glove and the flap closes just fine. The first time when it was straight out of the box and I closed the cover, the magnet didn’t catch. Then I pushed the camera inside a little more snug, and I pulled the flap a bit. Then it snaps shut every time, if you just give it a little tug the first few times to “break it in.” Now it just naturally falls into the right position to catch on the magnet. So if you have the SD940IS – I say go ahead buy this very nice leather case.

5 Stars Made For the Canon SD780 IS
I have the Canon SD780 IS camera and was looking to find a case for it. I bought this camera for its small size so I wanted a case that wasn’t too large. That would have defeated the purpose of buying a small camera in the first place.

This case is very sleek and fits the camera like a glove. It says it was made specifically for the SD780 IS directly on the packaging. The case is made of leather and the inside is lined with some sort of soft fabric material so it won’t scratch the camera when sliding it in & out. The flap is held in place by a magnet and there’s a belt loop on the back. This case it almost perfect.

The only thing I don’t like about it, which is actually rather minor and can’t be helped, is the hole on the top of the case for the hand strap. Every time you put your camera in the case, you need to string the strap through the small hole. Otherwise, the flap will not close because magnet is not strong enough to hold it. Also, the plastic piece on the strap gets caught on the small hole. But other than this, I don’t think you’ll find a better case for the SD780 IS.
